About Us

We are a group of psychiatric consumer/survivors who advocate for more supportive housing in Ontario for people with mental health issues.  By telling our personal stories, by conducting and presenting research, and by standing up for human rights, we demonstrate and promote the life-altering benefits of supportive housing.

We take our message to politicians, schools, universities, service agencies and the general public to increase awareness about our lives and the contributions that people with mental health issues can -- and do -- make to the community.

Members of the Dream Team have received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Ontario Non-Profit Housing Association's Tenant Achievement Award, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health Foundation Courage to Come Back Award, the Community Teaching Award from the University of Toronto , and the University of Toronto recognition for Outstanding Contributions to Community Research on Supportive Housing
.
